Leadership Programs

Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs

Since 1947, the Coro Fellows program has equipped emerging leaders with the resources they need to understand how decisions are made, how complex policies are shaped and how to influence meaningful change.

As FOCUS’ only full-time leadership program, the fellowship is founded on Coro’s unique curriculum of essential leadership skills training paired with real-world experiences – turning the community into your classroom.

Meet the 2018-19 class of Coro Fellows.

    About the Program

Competitively selected applicants join an intimate cohort of 12 participants for the nine-month immersion program, offering exposure to various sectors and industries and providing unparalleled access to business and community leaders.

No two days are the same for Coro Fellows. As a Fellow, you’ll find yourself immersed in:

    • Rotating field placements across sectors, including Business, Government, Nonprofit, Labor and Electoral Politics, as well as group and individual projects
    • Closed-door group interviews with key civic leaders and decision-makers
    • Weekly seminars to support learning and critical leadership competencies
    • Focus weeks and site visits for a deeper dive into civic issues

Coro Fellows emerge from the program with significant cross-sector experience, self-awareness and increased clarity in launching the next phase of their careers – and join a vast network of Coro and FOCUS alumni.

    Host a Coro Fellow

The Coro Fellows’ experiential learning model relies on the generous support of the St. Louis community. Placements are a cornerstone of this experience, as Fellows gain exposure to the business, government, labor, electoral politics, and nonprofit sectors.

By hosting a Fellow, your organization receives the benefit of a completed, high-stakes project and fresh perspective. In return, the Fellows gain a wealth of practical knowledge and insight into the region – experience that will help them in their leadership journey.

We’re now recruiting placement hosts for our 2018-19 program year.
