No matter your side of the aisle, what races you’re watching (local, state, national), or even the outcome, election season brings leadership challenges. Divisions about our values, about who we are as a country and who we want to be, about the electoral process and about what it means to be a leader, confront any group of diverse individuals. These divisions can undermine shared goals and group achievement. How does a leader engage on these issues meaningfully while being inclusive to deeply conflicting perspectives?
As a neutral convener in charged civic spaces, FOCUS’ mission is to provide tools and model leadership communication, especially at times that test our capacity for civic dialogue as a community.
Join us for a facilitated conversation led by FOCUS program directors Dr. Wally Siewert and Shalia Ford. This session will provide tools to help create inclusive, but substantive discussion around hard issues, as well as give you the opportunity to share your experiences with other leaders in the FOCUS member and alumni community.
