What are the steps to troubleshoot an issue, error or possible defect with the online forms?
Solution Often, website issues arise from the machine on which the website is being accessed. Cookie settings, firewall settings, security/anti-virus software, etc are just a few potential contributing factors to successfully reproducing functionality issues. Before contacting FOCUS Staff to report your issue or error, please complete each step below.
  1. Clear browser cache and cookies. Use this link to access a wiki page and locate the browser
    you are using.

  2. Enable Cookies. Many of your site’s features depend on the use of cookies. Ensure that you have cookies enabled in your browser configuration. For more information about enabling cookies, click the link below that corresponds to the browser you are using:

    Internet Explorer:
    Google Chrome:
    Safari 5.1 (OS X Lion):

  3. Check Multiple Browsers. Try to reproduce the issue in a different browser (i.e. if you are encountering the issue in Internet Explorer, try to reproduce it in Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.)

  4. Ensure that your browser is up to date. The exact procedure depends on browser:

    Firefox: Main Menu > Help >About Firefox
    Chrome: Main Menu > About Google Chrome
    Internet Explorer: Run Windows Update

  5. Use a different machine such as a home computer, work computer, or publicly accessible computer. This helps eliminate or identify a possible network factor.

  6. Ensure your browser is not zoomed in or zoomed out. Zooming can often cause web objects to display out of alignment and give the appearance of an issue when there is none.

  7. Check Firewall and Security/Anti-Virus Software Settings. Some functionality access may be blocked due to firewall settings or installed security/anti-virus software. Contact your network administrator about settings that could cause potential issues accessing your member community or its features.

  8. Disable any browser toolbars or plug-ins you may have installed. Consult your browser’s help documentation for more information on how to do this.

  9. If you are using Internet Explorer, make sure you are not running in Compatibility Mode (In Internet Explorer navigate to the Tools menu and ensure Compatibility View is not checked).
