|FOCUS St. Louis History|
Created through the merger of Confluence St. Louis and the Leadership Center of Greater St. Louis in 1996, FOCUS St. Louis offers a continuum of leadership programs to engage leaders from high school students through senior executives. As the region’s premier leadership organization, FOCUS develops and connects diverse leaders from public, private, and civic sectors, and empowers them to work together to build a thriving St. Louis community. In July 2011, FOCUS completed a strategic acquisition to incorporate the Coro™ Fellows Program in Public Affairs and Coro™ Women In Leadership programs into our already diverse leadership portfolio. FOCUS also developed and launched the Emerging Leaders program.
FOCUS impacts 10,000+ individuals annually. Our strength lies in our 6,500 trained program graduates. FOCUS’ leadership programs continue to provide established and aspiring leaders with comprehensive leadership training and unparalleled access to key people and resources necessary for inspiring and producing positive regional change. Program alumni have been motivated to launch new nonprofit agencies, start businesses, and run for political offices. FOCUS alumni are leaders who make a difference.
As a neutral convener and facilitator, FOCUS also engages citizens to deliberate on critical regional community issues in a trusted, nonpartisan space that gives members and guests the opportunity to network while discussing and addressing regional community issues and concerns.
FOCUS’ mission is to create a thriving, cooperative region by engaging citizens to participate in active leadership roles and to influence positive community change. We value citizen involvement, quality leadership, regional perspective, diversity, community consensus, and focused outcomes.
