Calling all young professionals!

Join us on May 14!

It’s not your ordinary service project!  Get hands-on and then get your barbecue on.  Join Connect With St. Louis and several nonprofit organizations doing great work in the St. Louis community for a choose-your-own-adventure service project.  This event is aimed at young professionals ages 21-35.

Cost: $5 (which go toward a scholarship fund for the Emerging Leaders program)

PHASE 1: PICK YOUR PURPOSE (select a service project) - 9 a.m.- noon

This year's service sites are:

Children’s Home Society

Children’s Home Society is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in need. This service project will be assisting in setting up for a carnival in Tilles Park.

Gateway Pet Guardians

Gateway Pet Guardians is a nonprofit St. Louis animal shelter bringing hope to stray pets in East St. Louis while educating the community in order to eliminate homelessness for stray dogs and cats. This project includes walking and socializing the dogs, cleaning keens, and other cleaning tasks and small projects.

Kingdom House

Kingdom House helps people achieve better lives through holistic programs and services, and you can be a part of their mission through this one day of meaningful volunteering. The service project will consist of either painting, cleaning, organizing donations, gardening, and/or grounds beautification, all depending on the weather.

The Little Bit Foundation

The Little Bit Foundation is an army of supporters giving, serving and advocating for impoverished children in St. Louis. Our philosophy: when you remove the barriers to learning, you give a child hope for the future and empower them to reach their dreams.  This project will probably be preparing backpacks or other resources for students.

Perennial

Perennial is a community workshop and store in St. Louis, MO that offers educational programming in creative reuse to diverse populations and sells creatively repurposed home goods and eco-friendly project supplies.  This project will include cleaning, organizing, and prepping materials for upcoming workshops.

St. Vincent Home for Children

St. Vincent Home for Children serves troubled children and their families, predominantly at-risk youth between the ages of 12-19 in North St. Louis County.  This service project will be working outside on a beautification project in their 20 acres of land.

Tenth Life Cat Rescue

Tenth Life Cat Rescue saves stray cats and kittens in the St. Louis area, prioritizing those with special needs.  This service project will be cleaning the storefront and ending with some time for cat cuddling.

PHASE 2: FIND YOUR FUN (BBQ and washers tournament) - noon - 1:30 p.m.

Join us for at Tower Grove Park for Pappy’s BBQ, a washers tournament and a chance to make friends and network with your fellow volunteers immediately following your service project.  Meet us at the Old Carriage Pavilion starting at noon.
