The goal of the Racial Equity Collaborative was to lead the community in understanding, articulating and implementing a racial equity agenda for the region by:

	forming partnerships and leveraging resources on a resident and community-wide level;
	developing leadership capacity and creating new leadership opportunities;
	building public will and changing public policy through media engagement, advocacy and direct political action; and
	conducting on-going research and evaluating outcomes.

The collaborative, which disbanded in 2008, was comprised of representatives from FOCUS St. Louis, The National Conference for Community and Justice-St. Louis region, The Anti-Defamation League of Missouri and Southern Illinois, Aspen Institute Roundtable on Comprehensive Community Initiatives, and RegionWise.
