Programs & Initiatives

Our major roles in the region, as outlined below, provide the foundation for aligning all our programs & initiatives into three distinct, yet related lines of service, which further our mission.

  DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP - FOCUS St. Louis offers numerous programs and initiatives designed to strengthen the region. We develop leaders through long-term programs for youth, educators and diverse professionals, and short-term orientations to the region for executives and others.
  INFLUENCING POLICY - To engage citizens and influence community policy, FOCUS provides opportunities to discuss issues, provide feedback to decision-makers, and take action for positive change in each of our four priority areas: Our policy work in these areas can be structured in any of the following ways:
  • Task Force
  • Collaboration
  • Policy Forums
  • Research
  • Advocacy/Position
  PROMOTING COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS - Focus offers members and other regional citizens a variety of events designed to promote a spirit of community. You can gain leadership skills, learn about regional issues, serve as proactive issue-leaders and opinion-shapers, and enjoy lively social gatherings.
