Judith (Judie) Johnson joined the FOCUS team in January 2012 as the Public Engagement Coordinator. She is responsible for the coordination of public engagement activities related to the Regional Sustainable Development Planning grant. Prior to joining FOCUS, Judie served as the Executive Director of UMC Parkview Corporation, a faith-based nonprofit broking resources and services for formerly incarcerated individuals. Judie brings many years of experience and training working in the areas of nonprofits management, social services programs, community development and engagement which includes her time as a director at the United Way of Greater St Louis, Community Investment Division – Success By 6® Early Childcare and Education Initiative.
Judie is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in urban and rural studies. She served honorably for eight years in the United States Navy, stationed both in the United States and Japan.
Judie is a native of Southern California, however has been a resident of St. Louis since 1997. Judie is a proud parent of two adult children and grandmother of one. She is a member of the Class of 2010 Nonprofit Services Center Women Executive Directors Leadership Academy and serves on NSC’s program committee. Judie is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
